Pop of Petals

I'm a little late with my blog post as I wanted to finish the second card I was planning using the Pop of Petals Bundle.  I love stamp sets and punches that are coordinating.  This bundle is perfect for creating very pretty flower cards.

My first card is a monochromatic card that features the bundle as well as two new colours that came out in the Annual Catalogue - Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  I'm not usually into purple, but I love how pretty this card is.

It's pretty quick and easy to stamp and punch the flowers and create this card.  Don't you love the two shades of purple together.

Now for the second card that took a little bit longer.  A friend of mine asked me to make a card for his Mom's 90th Birthday in August.  I decided that this bundle was perfect for a special card.  I'd also been thinking about using the 12" x 12" sheets of laser cut Delightfully Detailed Designer Series Paper as a background.  The card is 6" x 6" and has quite a few layers and embellishments so probably not a card you can mail, but since I know it will be hand delivered, it works fine!

Here's the special card I made for a special lady - even has a coordinating envelope.  Isn't it pretty!

The pink flowers on the front and inside the card were a bit of a happy accident - I decided to add some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers.  I thought the ink was dry as the flowers had sat for quite a while as I put the card together.  I guess not, so the ink ran a bit, but I love the effect!  Popped the colour up just a bit and made it easy to choose a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Nature's Poem suite to make the envelope.
