Prized Peony Thank You - Kylie's International Highlights Blog Hop

I'm excited to participate again in Kylie's Monthly International Blog Highlights!

As always the theme is - Thank you.  I used the Prized Peony and created an Arrow Fold Fancy Fold card.  This product suite is so pretty and it's perfect for a Thank You card for someone special!  I had never seen an arrow fold card until recently and couldn't help but try it!  It is quite easy to make - definitely you need a rule, a scoring blade on your trimmer and a bone folder!

You are able to VOTE for my card!!  The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop  at the end of August, so I would really appreciate you taking the time to Vote for me!!  Scroll down below, there is a button where you can click on and see all the participants and you get to vote for 5 projects! So 4 plus mine!!  Hint, hint.......

Vote for my card!

Now is the time to vote for my card.  Click on the picture below, it will take you to the highlights.  Check out all of the beautiful cards from around the world.  You can vote for up to 5 cards!

Thank you for taking the time to do this.  If I am in the top ten, I will be able to participate in another Blog Hop at the end of the month!

Instructions

  1. Cut Gray Granite cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2".
  2. On each side of the Gray Granite cardstock, use a pencil and a ruler to lightly mark at 2" from bottom and 4" from bottom on the long edge and 2 1/8" from the sides on the bottom edge.
  3. Using the scoring blade on your trimmer, score from the 5 1/2" score line down to the 2 1/8" mark.  Repeat from the 4" and 2" mark down to the 2 1/8" mark.  Repeat this on the other side of the cardstock.
  4. Gently fold on the score lines to make peaks and a valley - fold the longest score line in, and then the next score line out and the final scoreline in.
  5. Repeat on the other side.
  6. Use Stampin' Seal and Dimensionals to adhere the arrow closed.
  7. Cut Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4".  Mark along the bottom 4" edge at 2" and cut from the top corner to the 2" mark on both sides.  This will give you 3 triangles.
  8. Adhere the triangles with the straight sides to the inside of the card on the left and right hand sides using Stampin' Seal.
  9. Adhere the other triangle on the front of the card base using Stampin' Seal.
  10. Cut Whisper White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4".  Mark along the bottom 4 1/4" edge at 2 1/8" and cut from the top corner to the 2 1/8" mark on both sides.
  11. Stamp a sentiment and a peony using Gray Granite ink and adhere to the inside of the card using Stampin' Seal.
  12. Stamp the large peony using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Colour using Stampin' Blends - Petal Pink and Crumb Cake for the flower and Old Olive for the stems and leaves.
  13. Cut out using die.
  14. Adhere Square Vellum Doilie to the middle of the triangle on the front using Stampin' Seal.
  15. Adhere peony in the middle using Dimensionals
  16. Wrap ribbon around the top of the card and tie a bow.  TIP:  I used a glue dot on the back and in each corner to hold the ribbon in place.
  17. Cut Petal Pink cardstock 3/4" x 1 1/2" and cut ends using Banners Pick a Punch.
  18. Cut Whisper White cardstock 1/2" x 2" and cut ends using Banners Pick a Punch.
  19. Adhere to Petal Pink label using Dimensionals
  20. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
  21. Add Champagne Rhinestones

    5. I'm a little confused. You cut the patterned piece 4 X 5 1/4 but you say to mark 2 1/8 on the 4 1/4 side??

      1. My mistake Edie. Should be mark at 2" along the 4" side and cut from the top corners to the mark. I've fixed the instructions. Thanks for pointing this out!
