Technique Tuesday - Ink Techniques

I'm excited to be participating in the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.  Today we're sharing Inking techniques and my card features the "Smooching" technique. I haven't played with this technique for a long time, but it was fun to try it again.  It is a little bit messy, but still fun!

For my card today, I used the wax paper technique for "smooching".  There are other ways to do it, but this one works for me.

I made 2 cards using different colours - Polished Pink and Pale Papaya for one card and Soft Sea Foam and Bermuda Bay for the other one.  Which one is your favourite?

Instructions (for Pale Papaya and Polished Pink version)

  1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and fold in half to form card base.
  2. Cut Pale Papaya cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and emboss using Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
  3. Adhere to card base using Stampin' Seal.
  4. Cut Watercolor Paper 3 1/2" x 5 1/2"
  5. Drop 3-4 drops of Polished Pink Ink on Waxed Paper.  Add 5-7 drops of Pale Papaya Ink.  Spritz with water.
  6. Lay watercolour paper in ink and press down.  Move around until you have covered the paper with ink.
  7. Let dry completely!  This is important - I left mine for about 24 hours before stamping sentiment
  8. Cut out using 2nd largest Scalloped Rectangle Die.
  9. Stamp sentiment using Versamark and spring with Black Embossing Powder.  Heat to melt.
  10. Cut out flower from Basic Black cardstock using die.
  11. Adhere to scalloped rectangle using Multiple Purpose Adhesive Glue
  12. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
