Technique Tuesday - Vintage Technique with Ranunculus Romance

Time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop! Today we're sharing cards featuring a Vintage Technique so I decided to use the Stampin' Up!® Ranunculus Romance to create a vintage collage card.  It's been a long time since I've done this technique and it was fun to use my Blending Brush to do all sorts of sponging on my card!

I love the Ranunculus Romance stampset - it is so eclectic so it's perfect for this technique.  I created a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" of the collage and then cut it for this card.  That means I have lots of other pieces left for more cards in the future!

What do you think?  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!  Definitely a vintage feel!

Instructions

  1. Tear a 2" strip from a piece of card stock so that the edge is quite ragged.
  2. Using a full sheet of Very Vanilla, lay the torn piece at different angles and sponge along the torn edge using Crumb Cake ink.  Repeat randomly all over card stock.
  3. Stamp image randomly across entire card stock using Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss ink.
  4. Cut Crumb Cake card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  5. Cut Blushing Bride card stock 4" x 5 1/4" and sponge edges using Crumb Cake ink and Blending Brush
  6. Use the flat side of Paper Snips and distress the edge

  7. Cut background Collage piece - you need a piece 3 3/4" x 5" (save the other pieces for more cards!)
  8. Sponge edges using Crumb Cake ink and Blending Brush
  9. Use the flat side of Paper Snips and distress the edge
  10. Use your Bone Folder to roll the top right corner
  11. Adhere to Blushing Bride card stock
  12. Wrap ribbon around piece and adhere to the back
  13. Adhere to the card base
  14. Cut 3" of ribbon and use to tie a faux bow
  15. Stamp sentiment on a scrap of Blushing Bride card stock using Blackberry Bliss ink.
  16. Cut out using Paper Snips
  17. Sponge edges with Crumb Cake ink using Blending Brush
  18. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
  19. Adhere Pastel Pearls
  20. Cut Very Vanilla card stock 4" x 5 1/4"
  21. Cut a 1 1/4" x 4" piece from Collage background and adhere to right hand side.
  22. Adhere to the inside of the card.
