Technique Tuesday - Heat Embossing - Adorable Owls

It's time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop. This month the theme is Heat Embossing. This is one of my favourite technique and probably the very first technique I learned when I started stamping. It's still magical when the powder melts and on the paper!

Today my card features the Adorable Owls Stamp Set which is one of the free items you can choose with a $60 CDN order during Sale-a-Bration. Now, check out this fun card. I heat embossed the owl and the sentiment using Black Embossing Powder. I coloured "Ollie" the owl using my Stampin' Blends to make him pop! Isn't this a fun card!

Instructions

Cut Mango Melody cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2". Fold and burnish on scoreline with Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4"
Stamp sentiment in bottom right corner using Versamark.
Sprinkle with Black Embossing Powder and heat to melt
Adhere to card base
Cut Highland Heather cardstock 2" x 4 1/2" and adhere about 1/2" from left side of card
Cut Designer Series Paper (different pattern) 1 3/4" x 3 3/4" and adhere to card base about 1" from left side of card base
Cut 2nd largest circle using Stylish Shapes Dies from Basic White cardstock
Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
Stamp owl using Versamark on Basic White cardstock
Sprinkle with Black Embossing Powder and heat to melt
Colour using Stampin' Blends - Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Crumb Cake
Cut out using Paper Snips
Cut 9" of ribbon and fold in thirds
Adhere to circle
Adhere to card base using Dimensionals on circle over ribbon
Add Iridescent Rhinestones
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Stamp owl in bottom right corner using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Adhere to inside of card
