Lest We Forget

It's Remembrance Day in Canada.  The day we take time to remember members of our armed services who gave their lives in service to our country.  The red poppy is the symbol of Remembrance Day - we wear poppies on our lapels for approximately a month prior to November 11th.

The red poppy became the symbol due to the poem "In Flanders Fields".  The poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour became a symbol for the blood spilled in the war.

Whatever you do today, please take a minute or two to remember!
