A Poinsettia Card Perfect for the Holidays

Today I'm playing along with Tic Tac Toe Challenge #519 on The Papers Players with my Poinsettia card.  I used the Red Velvet Paper to make the Poinsettia.  I love the poinsettia dies - they cut and emboss all on one step.




For this challenge I chose the top row - Patterned Paper, Die Cut and Embossing.

Instructions

  1. Cut Real Red cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and fold in half to form card base.
  2. Cut Soft Suede cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  3. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 3 3/4" x 5" and emboss using the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder
  4. Adhere to the Soft Suede cardstock using Stampin' Seal.
  5. Adhere to the card base using Stampin' Seal.
  6. Cut Designer Series Paper 1 1/4" x 3 3/4" and adhere across the middle of the embossed cardstock using Stampin' Seal.
  7. Cut out 3 petals from Red Velvet Paper using dies.
  8. Fold the petals up slightly and put flower together using Dimensionals.
  9. Cut 2 large leaves and 1 smaller leaf from Mossy Meadow cardstock
  10. Adhere to the back of the flower using Glue Dots.
  11. Adhere 2 gold leaves from Forever Gold Laser Cuts using Glue Dots.
  12. Wrap gold twine around palm of hand about 4 times.  Pinch in the middle and adhere to the card base using Snail.
  13. Adhere flower to the card base using Dimensionals over the twine
  14. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 1" x 2" and stamp sentiment using Real Red ink.
  15. Punch end using Banners Take a Pick Punch. 
  16. Adhere to flower - tucked under petal using a Glue Dot.
  17. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  18. Stamp sentiment using Real Red ink
  19. Adhere to the inside of the card using Stampin' Seal.

Snowflake Splendor Fun Fold

I seem to be in a snowflake mood these days!  Here's another card I created using Snowflake Splendor Product Suite.  This time, it's a fun fold.  

I love the colour combinations that are possible with this Designer Series Paper.  I chose Pacific Point as my card base colour and let the pretty colours in the Designer Series Paper - Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Midnight Madness and Highland Heather do the rest!  Isn't it pretty! 




The iridescent ribbon is the perfect accent!


Instructions

  1. Cut Pacific Point cardstock 5 1/2" x 6 3/8" and score at 4 1/4". Fold on the score to form card base.
  2. Cut Pacific Point cardstock 3" x 4" and score at 1/2" on the 3" side.
  3. Fold on the score line and adhere in the middle of the right edge of the card base using Stampin' Seal.
  4. Cut Designer Series Paper 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" and adhere to front flap using Stampin' Seal.
  5. Cut Whisper White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4".
  6. Stamp sentiment using Pacific Point ink.
  7. Stamp snowflakes on bottom left using Pacific Point ink.
  8. Adhere to inside of card using Stampin' Seal.
  9. Cut Designer Series Paper 3/4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to the right edge of the Whisper White piece using Stampin' Seal.
  10. Cut Whisper White cardstock 2 3/4" x 3 1/4"
  11. Stamp sentiment using Pacific Point ink
  12. Stamp snowflake using Pacific Point ink - stamped off
  13. Adhere to right hand flap using Stampin' Seal.
  14. Wrap ribbon around left hand flap and tie a bow on the front side of the card.

    Festive Friday #FF0073 - Winter/Winter Solstice

     It's time for another Festive Friday Challenge!  Every second Friday we post a challenge for you with a specific theme and a Inspo List of 10 items to choose from to create your project.  We encourage you to create a project based on the theme and Inspo List and then post it using at least 3 items from the inspiration list.

    This week’s challenge #FF0072 is Winter/Winter Solstice on December 21st. Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion. I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D project and join us. You don’t need a blog to enter Festive Friday. Check out this link on how you can play along with this challenge.     For today's challenge, I selected a blue, purple, snowflakes and a fun fold from this week’s Inspo List.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. 

    My card today is a Tea Bag Fold Snowflake card.  I was inspired by flower cards on Pinterest that used this fold so I decided I had to try it out.  You can check out my YouTube Video for tips and instructions on creating this fold.


    Isn't this pretty!  I really like how it turned out.  You can use smaller squares to make your snowflake.  These were 3" squares of the Snowflake Spendor Designer Series Paper but in my video I used 2 1/2" squares.

    International Highlights Winners Blog Hop - November 2020

    I’m so excited to be featured in this month’s International Highlights Top Ten Winners Blog Hop hosted by Kylie Bertucci. I was selected to participate in this hop by finishing in the top ten of the November 2020 International Highlights. Thank you to everyone who voted for my card! The theme for the International Blog Highlights is "Thank You"! Here's my Fancy Fold card featuring the Quite Curvy Bundle that I shared in the International Highlights Blog Hop.  



    Today's card is an elegant Black and White Thank You Card.  I love the look of embossed Whisper White on Black. With everything that is going on these days and the numbers of Covid-19 cases rising, it's a great time to send thank you cards to all of our Essential workers!



    Instructions

    1. Cut Basic Black cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and fold in half to form card base.
    2. Cut Whisper White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card base using Stampin' Seal.
    3. Cut 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock 1 3/4" x 3" 
    4. Emboss one piece using Dainty Diamonds Embossing Eolder and the other piece using Scripty Embossing Folder
    5. Adhere each piece to a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut 1 7/8" x 3 1/8"
    6. Adhere to the card base using Dimensionals
    7. Cut a 5 1/4" piece of Black Organdy Ribbon.
    8. Adhere to the 2 embossed pieces using a Glue Dot.
    9. Cut a 1" x 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock.
    10. Stamp sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
    11. Adhere to the card base over the ribbon using Dimensionals.

    Curvy Christmas Fancy Fold Card

    I had fun making this fancy fold card using the Curvy Christmas stampset, Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Stitched Stars Dies. I shared the same fancy fold in my blog on November 2nd featuring the Quite Curvy Bundle.  You can check out that card and my YouTube video showing you how to make this fancy fold card.

    I love the colour combination of Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand.  What do you think?






    Instructions - check out my YouTube video for tips and tricks for making this card

    1. Cut Cherry Cobbler cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4" and fold in half to form card base.
    2. Cut 1 1/4" from the left and right hand side - from the bottom to the 4 1/4" score line.
    3. Cut 4 pieces of Designer Series Paper 1" x 5 1/4"
    4. Adhere Designer Series Paper to the left and right flaps on the front using Stampin' Seal.
    5. Adhere the other two pieces on the left and right hand side of the inside of the card.
    6. Cut Whisper White cardstock 2 3/4" x 4" and emboss using the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder.
    7. Adhere to the middle flap using Stampin' Seal.
    8. Cut Window Sheet 1 1/2" x 4" and adhere to the back of the left and right flap using Stampin' Seal.
    9. Stamp sentiment using Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out using Paper Snips.
    10. Cut star and swirls from Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
    11. Adhere to the Window Sheet using Stampin' Seal.
    12. Adhere sentiment using Dimensionals over the stars.
    13. Adhere individual stars to Designer Series Paper using Dimensionals.
    14. Cut Whisper White cardstock 2 3/4" x 4".
    15. Stamp stars on bottom using Cherry Cobbler ink.
    16. Stamp sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  Fussy cut using Paper Snips.
    17. Adhere to inside of card using Dimensionals.
