New York City

Wednesday 26 September 2012

I haven't posted for a few days as my 2 sisters and I are visiting New York City!  It's our first time and I have to say WOW!  I've been lucky enough to travel to many cities in the world, but the New York experience has been nothing like any of them.  I think it is because we see so many images of New York City every day and when you see them in person it's just so amazing.

Time Square is quite the site when you arrive.  Our hotel is right in Time Square and it really doesn't sleep!

We've done so much while here starting with a tour of the city visiting Central Park, Grand Central Terminal, the Flatiron Building, Greenwich Village and the World Trade Centre area.

So many pictures so much fun with my sisters.

And of course, it isn't New York without some shopping!  Today is our last day and we're off to Bloomingdale's.  There is some debate and concern that an extra suitcase needs to be purchased!

I'll be home on Friday night - back to reality, but will be good to be home.  I'll post some more pictures when I get home.  I can't wait to get started on NYC Photo Books for the 3 of us using My Digital Studio.  Stay tuned for some of those shares!

Thanks for stopping by.

More Shares

Tuesday 18 September 2012

I have a few more cards to share with you.  I had fun making these cards for my family and friends and also in preparation for my upcoming classes.
One of our dear sisters has decided to take a leave from our Sorority Chapter.  We are sad to see her leave but are hoping that she will come back and visit often.  We gave her a gift and a card at our get together to start our year off.

I love the Blooming with Kindness stamp set (Item 126422).  For this card I also used the a template made from the Paper Doily Sizzlet (Item 125592) and sponged over it in Baja Breeze for the background behind the flowers.  I also added texture with the Fancy Fan embossing folder (Item 127751).  I love how this card turned out and so did the receiver!

The next card uses the Owl Builder Punch (Item 118074) - it's so simple to use! A button and some ribbon to embellish.  With the current Back to Spool promotion, you get a FREE package of 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon-an $12.25 value-for every $50 you spend.  What a great way to stock up on your ribbon supply just in time for Christmas.  You can place your order on my Online Store or by emailing me.

Hello from Baltimore

Tuesday 11 September 2012

As I mentioned in my last post I've been in Baltimore since Friday night.  I haven't seen much of the Baltimore area, but the meetings I'm at are being held at a hotel in the Inner Harbour which is very beautiful.
I wasn't able to bring along my craft supplies, but that doesn't mean I haven't been creating :)  When I travel it's a great opportunity to create using My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2).  I thought I'd share with you a couple of the pages I created while in Baltimore.
The first one is a page I created after going to a baseball game with the Baltimore Orioles playing the New York Yankees.  It was a great game with Baltimore pulling out a win!
I also created this page. We had a great summer (although a little short) on our boat - Half Penny Lane.  I was playing with lots of different techniques in this card - I love the new attaching text to a shape.  In both of my cards, the title is attached to a shape - a circle in the first one and a wave in the second one.

It was really easy and so much fun being creative in a different way - digitally!  You can download a free trial version of MDS2 for 30 days.  It's a great way to try it out and see if you like it.  Download the FREE 30-day trial.  I'd be happy to show you more about me for more details.

Happy stamping and creating digitally...

Here I go....

Friday 7 September 2012

September is a busy time for everyone - for me it seems to be the start of a lot of travel for business.  While I love exploring new cities, I really would much rather be at home.  Today is the first day of 3 weeks of straight travel for me.  I'm off to Baltimore for a week of meetings.  I come home next Saturday for just enough time to unpack my suitcase and re-pack as I leave for a week in Regina.  The last trip is the one I'm most looking forward to.  My sisters and I are heading to New York for 5 days.  It will be so much fun to spend time with my sisters - we don't get to see each very often. Even though they only live in Alberta we just don't seem to get together very often.  This will be first time the 3 of us have done a trip like this - all spurred because my husband isn't really interested in going to New York.  His loss and my gain!

I thought I would share the swap card I made for the Canada Inks Up! swap that we did at convention.  Canada Inks Up! is the group of demonstrators I belong to through my Upline Alison.  I shared some of the cards from the talented ladies in the group in a previous post but I realized that I hadn't shared my swap.

This is a card in an envelope.  The envelope is made by cutting a 7 3/4" square using Card Stock and then at score @ 3-1/8” and 4-1/8” using the diagonal plate for the Simply Scored.  It's so easy - then fold in the 4 points. To make the inside of the card, I then cut Designer Series Paper to the same size and trimmed to fit the 4 points.  You can be as creative as you want inside - for this one I attached a small card so that I could write a note .

I may not be as regular at blogging over the next few weeks, but will try to share some of the adventures of my travel - especially New York!

Happy Stamping.
