Jacob's Coat Technique with Sneak Peek - Stampin' Up! Hand Drawn Dots

Background stamps are so much fun!  They are perfect for quick and easy cards - just let the image be the star of the show!  That's what I did with this card featuring Hand Drawn Dots from the upcoming Stampin' Up! January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue.  It's a perfect image to use for the Jacob's Coat technique.  Isn't this a pretty card!

Did you spot another new product on the card?  The Alphabet Alamode Dies!  You're going to love them.  I used them to cut out a shortened version of Happy Birthday and popped up the letters using Adhesive Foam Sheets.  So fun!


Instructions

  1. Cut Starry Sky cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2".  Fold and burnish on scoreline to form card base.
  2. Cut Parakeet Party cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  3. Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  4. Use Blending Brushes and apply ink randomly to fill sheet - I used Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Polished Pink and Daffodil Delight.
  5. Stamp Dot image using Versamark ink
  6. Sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder and heat to melt
  7. When cool, use Blending Brush to apply Starry Sky ink over entire piece.
  8. Wipe with paper towel
  9. Cut to 3 3/4" x 5" - save strips that you cut off
  10. Adhere to Parakeet Party cardstock
  11. Adhere to card base
  12. Adhere Adhesive Foam Sheet to Parakeet Party cardstock
  13. Cut out H, B, 2 and U using Dies
  14. Adhere to card base
  15. Adhere Decorative Matte Dots
  16. Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  17. Adhere strips that were cut off of coloured card stock on left side and bottom of Basic White

Monthly Card Club


I'm excited to be offering a Monthly Card Club either In Person or by mail.  Each month I will select a stamp set or bundle to feature.  You will make 3 cards with envelopes and receive 1/2 package of Designer Series Paper, package of Embellishments and a roll of ribbon.  Cost is $45 In Person (or local pick up) and $50 mailed.

The In Person classes will be held on the last Sunday of each month from 10am to 12noon or 1-3pm.  Space will be limited to 3 people per class and masks will be mandatory (as well as any other requirements announced by the Provincial Health Officer).
