Todays' card features a stamp set that caught my eye on my first peruse through the new Annual Catalogue - Country Road.  I'm not really into horses or country decor, but for some reason a card came to mind when I saw this set.

I made this card for a recent event I attended with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators on Vancouver Island.  I was really happy with how it turned out and I especially like the combination of Merry Merlot (one of the new colours in the Neutral Collection) with Crumb Cake.

I haven't done this sponging technique for a while, but it's really easy to do.  I tore a small strip of card stock and then laid it across the card and sponged using a sponge dauber and a Crumb Cake stamp pad.  It gives the card an "old, distressed" feel.  At one point I had considered making it look really distressed by crumpling the  Very Vanilla card stock after stamping and sponging, but I decided I liked the look without doing that!

This card is perfect for a masculine birthday!
