Technique Tuesday - Blog Hop - Fun Folds

It's time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop and I'm hopping with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. This month the theme is Fun Folds.

We created this Impossible Card on a recent Monday night card class.  I used the Stampin' Up! Zany Zoo Suite which is so adorable.  Who can't resist a crocodile (or alligator - I can't tell the difference - they all have big teeth!) riding a bike!

Instructions

  1. Cut Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" for the card base
  2. Score cardstock at 2 1/8" along the short side (4 1/4" side"
  3. Cut at 2 3/4" from the top of the card to the score line
  4. Cut at 1" and 4 1/2" from the bottom up to the scoreline.
  5. Twist your card base by holding one side steady and twist the other side upwards or downwards.  It doesn't matter which way you twist.  See image below for what your twisted card base should look like.
  6. Cut Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 1" x 5 1/2"
  7. Cut Designer Series Paper 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  8. Cut 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper 2 1/2" x 4"
  9. Cut Basic White cardstock 3 1/4" x 1 7/8"
  10. Stack the 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper on top of each other - NOTE:  make sure you have the side that you want to show on your cards facing downwards
  11. Cut at 1 3/4" from left edge down to 2 1/8", then turn paper 90 degrees and cut to the left edge to create a L shaped piece.
  12. Adhere the 2 pieces of the Designer Series Paper to the card base on the L shaped sections.
  13. Adhere the 3/4" x 5 1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper to the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock (1" x 5 1/2")
  14. Adhere to the card base about 3/8" from bottom to stabilize the card base
  15. Stamp sentiment in bottom left of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink
  16. Adhere to the card base on the flap
  17. Stamp crocodile on scrap of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento ink
  18. Colour using Stampin' Blends - Lemon Lime Twist, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate
  19. Cut out using Die
  20. Adhere to the card base.
  21. Adhere black Dots
  22. Tie a small bow using Petal Pink and Lemon Lime Twist ribbon
  23. Adhere to card base.

Here's the template for the card base.
