Stamping With Friends Blog Hop - Mirroring Technique

Today I'm hopping with my friends in the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop sharing projects that feature the "Mirroring" Technique. I don't play with this technique very much, but I love how this project turned out!  Will definitely have to use it more often!

The great part about mirroring is that you can "flip" your image in the opposite direct with the help of a Silicone Mat!  One of the many uses for a Silicone Mat!  I used the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set from the Annual Catalogue to stamp two turtles facing each other - almost like they are toasting with their flowers ;)

Instructions

  1. Cut Parakeet Party cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".
  2. Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
  3. Cut Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card base
  4. Cut Mossy Meadow cardstock 3 1/8" x 3 3/4"
  5. Cut Basic White cardstock 2 7/8" x 3 1/2"
  6. Stamp turtle image on left side of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  7. Stamp turtle image on clean Silicone Mat using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  8. Turn Basic White cardstock over and press into the Silicone Mat over the stamped image
  9. Colour the turtles using Stampin' Blends - Mossy Meadow, Parakeet Party and Berry Burst
  10. Adhere to Mossy Meadow cardstock
  11. Tie ribbon around bottom and tie a bow
  12. Adhere to left side of card base using Dimensionals
  13. Stamp clouds on Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  14. Cut out using Die
  15. Highlight with Light Pool Party Stampin' Blend
  16. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
  17. Stamp sentiment on Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  18. Cut out using Paper Snips
  19. Adhere to card base using Dimensional
  20. Adhere embellishments
  21. Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  22. Cut Designer Series Paper 3/4" x 5 1/4"
  23. Adhere Designer Series Paper to bottom
  24. Adhere to inside of card.
