Technique Squad Blog Hop - December 2023 - White Wash

Welcome to the Technique Squad Blog Hop! Each month we hop to share a different technique with you in hopes to inspire you to give it a try!  This month the technique is White Wash.

I love this technique.  The cards have a vintage feel to me.  What do you think?  I used the new Stippled Roses Stamp Set for my card with Gold Embossing Powder.  I find that larger stamps work best as there's lots of room to add your white wash too!

Instructions

  1. Cut Crumb Cake cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".  Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
  2. Cut Moody Mauve cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  3. Cut Crumb Cake cardstock 3 3/4" x 5"
  4. Stamp large flower image on Crumb Cake cardstock using Versamark.
  5. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and heat to melt.
  6. Let cool
  7. Mix White Craft Ink with water to make runny white wash.
  8. Colour flowers using white wash using Aqua Painter or paint brush.
  9. Let dry.
  10. Colour lightly using small Blending Brush and Moody Mauve ink
  11. Splatter using White Wash and Aqua Painter
  12. Let dry
  13. Cut Moody Mauve cardstock 1/2" x 3"
  14. Stamp sentiment using Versamark.
  15. Sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and heat to melt.
  16. Let cool
  17. Cut each end on an angle
  18. Adhere to bottom left corner using Dimensionals
  19. Adhere Gold Sequins
  20. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 4"x 5 1/4"
  21. Stamp flower in bottom left
  22. Colour lightly using small Blending Brush and Moody Mauve ink
  23. Adhere to inside of card.
