Stamping With Friends - What is old is new again Blog Hop

Today I'm hopping with the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop.  Our theme for this hop is "What is old is new again".   I went back in my blog and found a card I made using the Retiform Technique.  I shared this card in July 2022.

The Retiform technique is similar to collage, but you create small shapes using Masking Paper and within those shapes you collage images.  Here's the card I shared in July 2022 featuring the Joyful Flurry Stamp Set.

For today's version I used the Notes of Nature Stamp Set - one of my favourites from the January to April Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.  I love how this card turned out in Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake.

Instructions

  1. Cut Old Olive card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".  Fold on score line and burnish using Bone Folder to form card base.
  2. Cut Pecan Pie card stock 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card base.
  3. Cut Very Vanilla card stock 3 3/4" x 5"
  4. Cut strips of Masking Paper about 1" x 5".  Remove some of the stickiness from the Masking Paper by rubbing on sleeve or pants
  5. Adhere strips of Masking Paper to create triangles on Very Vanilla card stock.
  6. Use Blending Brush with Crumb Cake ink to colour along edges of Masking Paper.
  7. Then stamp images in the triangle using Old Olive, Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake ink
  8. Peel off Masking Paper and replace to create a second triangle.
  9. Repeat blending and stamping using different stamps and colours,
  10. Repeat until the card stock is covered.
  11. Adhere to card base.
  12. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 3/4" x 3"
  13. Stamp sentiment using Old Olive ink
  14. Cut Old Olive cardstock 1" x 3 1/4"
  15. Cut banner ends in the left end of both
  16. Adhere sentiment to Old Olive cardstock using Dimensionals
  17. Adhere to card base.
  18. Adhere Cork Rounds to card base
  19. Cut Very Vanilla card stock 4" x 5 1/4"
  20. Stamp stem in bottom right corner using Old Olive ink
  21. Adhere to inside of card.
