Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - February 2024 - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Time for the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators around the world who participate each month to share projects we are working on. Our theme this month is "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle".  What would you use to add to your card with this theme?

I looked around my craftroom and what did I see but Stampin' Up! boxes from recent orders.  How perfect to pull some of the corrugated paper off the box and see what I could do with it!  I love how it coordinates perfectly with the Nature's Sweetness Suite from the Stampin' Up! Jan to Apr Mini Catalogue!

It was easy to cut a strip off the box flap and then I gently pulled the backing off of both sides of the corrugation.  Looks like a crimped piece of Kraft Paper.  I also used the backing and punched out a circle using the 2 3/8" Circle Punch and cut a strip for the inside of the card.  Wow! the possibilities are endless!

Instructions

  1. Cut Pecan Pie cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2".  Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
  2. Cut Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card base
  3. Cut cardboard piece 2" x 4" and gently peel the backing from front and back
  4. Adhere to card base on left side - it is a bit stretchy so I found Tear and Tape Adhesive worked well to hold it.
  5. Stamp image on Basic White cardstock using Pecan Pie ink.
  6. Cut out using Die
  7. Cut out "Figure" image using Paper Snips.
  8. Colour pods using Wink of Stella
  9. Punch circle from backing using 2 3/8" Circle Punch
  10. Adhere stamped image to circle using Dimensionals
  11. Adhere "Figure" image using Dimensional
  12. Cut out stems from Pecan Pie and Designer Series Paper using Dies.
  13. Adhere behind image using Glue Dots
  14. Stamp sentiment on Basic White cardstock using Pecan Pie
  15. Cut out using Paper Snips
  16. Adhere to card base
  17. Adhere Cork Rounds
  18. Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
  19. Cut card board backing 3/4" x 4"
  20. Stamp cross hatch image using Pecan Pie ink
  21. Adhere to Basic White cardstock
  22. Adhere to inside of card.
