Creativity Abounds Blog Hop - November 2024 - Gift Packaging/Home Decor

Time for another Creativity Abounds Blog Hop! We are a group of very keen Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who are coming together to share our creative ideas with you. We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can inspire you to make creations of your own. You may be starting here or you may have come from someone else's blog - either way there is a list at the end of this post to help you move around all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. This month we're sharing our gift packaging/home decor or decorations! A fellow demonstrator came for a visit and some crafting and showed me how to make these adorable ornaments made using the Deckled Circle Dies. How can you resist a tree and an angel! So easy! If you watch my video that I recorded live, you will learn how to put these together and for the tree, you'll learn how NOT to put it together! Luckily you can make 2 decorations from the circles that you cut, so you can see the right way to do it too!

Aren't these fun! and a great way to used some of the Designer Series Paper that we all have in our stash!

Such a cute angel - I even added one of my beautiful Delft Beads that I bought in the Netherlands. It goes perfectly with the Magical Winter Designer Series Paper that I chose!

Angel Instructions - watch the Youtube video to get tips and tricks (and maybe even what not to do!)

Cut 3 circles from Designer Series Paper using the same size of Deckled Circle Die.
Fold each circle in half
With the curved sides facing each other insert one circle into the other so the straight sides are outwards at an angle.
Cut 8-10" of twine, fold in half and tie a knot in the end.
Insert the twine along the fold of one circle so most of it pokes out the top.
Adhere the circles closed.
Poke a hole in the centre of the 3rd circle using your Take Your Pick Tool.
Insert the twine through the hold and push the circle down so that it is up against the body of the angel.
Glue closed.
Put a bead through the twine and tie a knot to hold it in place.

Cut 3 circles from Designer Series Paper using 3 different sizes of Deckled Circle Dies. The 3 dies should have 1 die size between them.
Cut each circle in half.
Fold the piece in half.
Measure down 3/4" or 2 cm from straight edge and apply Tear n' Tape from that mark to the bottom curve.
Apply Tear n' Tape along the straight edge of each half circle.
Starting with the smallest half circle at the top, lay on the second circle on top so the straight edge is along the mark.
Repeat with the largest half circle.
Cut 8-10" of twine, fold in half and tie a knot in the end.
Insert the twine along the fold of one circle so most of it pokes out the top.
Now fold the sides of the circle inwards starting with the bottom half circle and press to adhere in the middle.
Tie a small bow around the twine.
