Technique Tuesday Blog Hop - October 2025 - Masking

Time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop. This month our theme is "Masking". Today I created my own masks using the Dies from the Light & Wonder Bundle from Stampin' Up!®.

It's so easy to cut out the shape using Dies. Then used them with your Blending Brush to colour the background with subtle images. I love the trees from the Light & Wonder Dies. It creates such a pretty background in Lost Lagoon.

Instructions

Cut Lost Lagoon cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4". Fold and burnish on scoreline using your Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Balmy Blue cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Cut Basic White cardstock 3 3/4" x 5"
Cut out tree shape using Die from Lost Lagoon cardstock
Use the negative as a stencil or mask to colour tree images on Basic White cardstock using Lost Lagoon ink.
Cut the die cut in half and adhere to the bottom of the card base - with pieces overlapped.
Adhere to the Balmy Blue cardbase.
Cut 16" of ribbon - cut in half lengthwise.
Tie a bow using both strands over bottom of the Balmy Blue cardstock
Adhere to the card base.
Cut Lost Lagoon cardstock 1/2" x 4"
Stamp sentiment using Lost Lagoon ink
Trim off excess on ends.
Adhere to the card base using Dimensionals.
Adhere embellishments
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Use the negative as a stencil or mask to colour tree images in the bottom right corner using Lost Lagoon ink.
Adhere to the inside of the card.
