Technique Tuesday - December 2025 - Blending Brushes

Time for another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.  This month our theme is "Blending Brushes".  I love to add colour to a background or a die cut using my Blending Brushes!

I used to struggle with getting "splotches" of colour when I used a Sponge Dauber or Sponge to add colour.  The Blending Brushes make it so easy!

Check out this pretty cad featuring the Brushed With Beauty Suite - a new Online Exclusive from Stampin' Up!®. How gorgeous is this suite!

Can you see the subtle colouring of the arch die cut and the Designer Series Paper?  I used Calypso Coral with my Blending Brush to add a hint of colour to the arch and Crumb Cake to the embossed Designer Series Paper.

Instructions

  1. Cut Thick Very Vanilla cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".  Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
  2. Cut Designer Series Paper 3 3/4" x 5"
  3. Emboss the Designer Series Paper using the Beautiful Pattern Embossing Folder.
  4. Use your Blending Brush to add Crumb Cake ink to Designer Series Paper.
  5. Cut out 3rd largest arch from Very Vanilla cardstock using Die
  6. Use your Blending Brush to add Calypso Coral ink to arch.
  7. Stamp sentiment on bottom of arch using Early Espresso ink
  8. Adhere arch to Designer Series Paper in bottom right corner using Dimensionals.
  9. Stamp large flower on Very Vanilla cardstock using Calypso Coral ink (full strength and stamped off)
