Convention here I come!

Sunday, 13 July 2014

Here I am again delinquent on my postings!  It's not that I haven't been busy crafting - I have, but I haven't managed to post. My husband and I also spent a wonderful holiday in Portugal that was in conjunction with some work meetings.

It's Stampin' Up! Convention this week and I'm in Salt Lake City for some pre-events and then Convention.  I love attending Convention - one of the perks of being a SU! demonstrator (at least it is for me).  If you're interested in learning more about Convention and why I love it, email me!

I've made a number of swaps and I think it's okay to share those now.  I have one special swap with the Canada Inks Up! team that will be here and I will save that posting until we've swapped.

General Swap made with Words of Art Stamp Set
General Swap - Baby You've Grown Stampset
General Swap - Words of Art Stamp set
General Swap - Traveller Stamp Set
LNS Swap - I made 81 of these!
So my goals to get back to posting - I have some amazing cards to share with you that I've received over the past few months and I know I'll have some amazing things to share this week at Convention. Stay tuned!

If you haven't seen the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, please email me and I'll get one to you.

Missing in Action!

Saturday, 8 March 2014

Wow, where does time go!  It's been a bit crazy with my day job getting in the way of my posting.  It isn't that I haven't managed to find some time to be creative, but I just haven't found my way to post.  Okay...back on track!

I have lots of birthdays in March and April so I thought I would share some of the cards that I've been making.  You may have noticed all of the great "card in a box" creations that are on Pinterest and other blogs.  I couldn't resist trying this out.  I love this.  They fit into a standard envelope for mailing and what an impression when the receiver opens the envelope.

Here's a couple of samples I made:
I love the colour combination of this one.  Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper White with some Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-Bration flyer - Sweet Sorbet.  I used the Banner Blast and matching punch from Sale-a-Bration, the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch from the new Occasions Catalogue and the Butterfly punch.

This one used the Blessed Easter stamp (I carefully cut the sentiment off the stamp so that I can use the two separately) and then cut out the tulips.
I will be offering a Card-in-a-Box class in the near future.  If you are interested, please email me.

Happy Stamping!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Friday, 14 February 2014

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.  My husband and I don't really go all out for Valentine's Day and this year is no exception - we're going out to dinner tonight at friends, but no plans for a romantic dinner for the two of us.  Have to work on that for next year :)

I did however buy him a little chocolate treat - I saw this as I came through Denver Airport on a recent trip and I know he loves chocolate.  The holder is made with the new Scalloped Top Punch from Stampin' Up!.  I love this punch.  I'll share a card I made using this punch to create the enclosure in my next post. Thanks to my friend Ginny Duncan who inspired this creation.

Here's the chocolate holder.  I'm also in love with the new washi tape in the Occasions Catalogue - Happy Watercolor!

I've shared the card I made on a previous blog, but here it is again.

I hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Mixed Media - I'm loving it!

Saturday, 1 February 2014

I've just finished the sample for my upcoming Mixed Media Class on February 22nd.  I just love this technique.  I get to be "artistic" not just creative - well, I think I am being artistic.  It's so much fun to keep applying layers and see what it turns out like.  The secret is to not give up!  It never looks very good until you get all of the layers applied!

Are you interested in learning more?  I have one space left on Feb 22nd.  I am holding a second class on March 1st from 1-4pm.  You can email me to reserve for either of these dates.

Want to see what you'll be working on?  For this sample I used the Petite Petals Punch from the Occasions Catalogue and the Designer Series Paper called Sweet Sorbet - one of the free products you can choose if you purchase $60 from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue or the Annual Catalogue.

Happy creating!
