Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm participating in Kylie's Demonstrator Blog Hop with other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world. Using the links at the bottom of my blog, you'll be able to "hop around the world" and check out the amazing projects created by these very talented demonstrators.  You are currently visiting Melva Peters from Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.  Please take some time to check out all of the blogs on the list below!

My card today features the Well Said Bundle and the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper that are perfect for a masculine birthday card.

Instructions

  1. Score Basic Black Cardstock (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") in half to make card base.
  2. Attach a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Cut out the "birthday" sentiment using the framelit from the Well Written Framelits Dies.
  3. Adhere the "birthday" cut out to a piece of black Classic Garage Designer Series Paper (1 1/4" x 5") by peeling off the backing from the cut out piece.
  4. Stamp "Happy" on a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Cut it out using Snips.  Note: I wasn't really worried if it wasn't perfectly straight on this card.
  5. Adhere the cut out "Happy" beside the "birthday" using Dimensionals.
  6. Adhere to Classic Garage Designer Series Paper (5" x 3 3/4") using Snail.
  7. Adhere to a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock (4" x 5 1/4") using Snail.
  8. Adhere to the card front using Snail.
  9. Add a Silver Pearl above the "i" in "birthday"
  10. Stamp a sentiment to a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4" x 5 1/4")
  11. Adhere to the inside of the card using Snail.

Life Is Grand

Friday, 8 February 2019

Today I'm featuring the Life Is Grand stampset and three ways to use it for the beginner stamper, the casual stamper and the avid stamper.

As a beginner stamper, you are new to stamping or have never tried stamping.  You don't own stamping supplies but may be somewhat crafty and enjoy trying new things.  Does this describe you?

Here's a card I made which a typical "new" stamper could easily do with a stampset, ink and paper. The Designer Series Paper is optional here but can be used to give your card a pop of colour.

Instructions

  1. Score Whisper White Thick card stock (5 1/2" x 11") in half to make card base.
  2. Cut piece of Floral Romance Designer Series Paper Vellum (4" x 5 1/4").  Stamp sentiment in Fresh Fig ink.
  3. Adhere to card base using a Glue Dot in each corner.
As a "casual" stamper you own some supplies, stamp around once a month, like stamping but also leave time for other crafts or hobbies.  You have a collection of some stamps, some inks and some paper, maybe even some punches, but most likely do not have a Big Shot die cutting machine due to the investment required. You like to come to classes and parties and always love a sale or promotion!  Does this describe you?

Here's a card I designed for the casual stamper:

Instructions

  1. Score Whisper White Thick card stock (5 1/2" x 11") in half to make card base.
  2. Cut piece of Floral Romance Designer Series Paper Vellum (3 3/4" x 5").  Stamp sentiment in Fresh Fig ink.
  3. Adhere to Fresh Fig cardstock (4" x 5 1/4") using Glue Dots in each corner
  4. Adhere a piece of Powder Pink ribbon around back of card front using Snail.  Cut a small piece of ribbon and tie around the ribbon around card front.
  5. Adhere to card base using Snail.
  6. Adhere a Basic Adhesive-backed sequin above the "i" and add a rhinestone.
Now for the "avid stamper". You love stamping more than just about any other activity! It is your primary hobby, artistic medium  and fun time passion. You love to talk about it, share it and stamp as much as possible. Avid stampers frequently stamp every day and are constantly eager to see and hear all the latest news about new products or techniques. You have moved from owning a few supplies to collecting everything you like! You have all the tools and know how to use them and aren't afraid to try new things.  This definitely describes me!  How about you?

Here's a card I designed for an avid stamper:

Instructions

  1. Score Whisper White Thick card stock (5 1/2" x 11") in half to make card base.
  2. Cut a piece of Fresh Fig cardstock (4" x 5 1/4") and emboss with Lace Embossing Folder
  3. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of Floral Romance vellum using Fresh Fig ink.
  4. Adhere to a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock of the same size using Glue Dots in the corners.
  5. Cut out using Stitched Rectangle Framelits - use 2 framelits - one to fit around the sentiment and the other larger.  When cut out you will have a frame.
  6. Adhere to embossing Fresh Fig cardstock using Snail for the stamped piece and Glue Dots in the corners for the frame.
  7. Adhere a piece of Powder Pink ribbon around back of card front using Snail.  Cut a small piece of ribbon and tie onto piece around card front.
  8. Adhere to card base using Snail.
  9. Adhere a Basic Adhesive-backed sequin above the "i" and add a rhinestone.
  10. Adhere a Basic Adhesive-backed sequin and a rhinestone on each for the corners of the frame.

Everything I used on this card is available in my Online Store.  You can check out the list of supplies below.

When you place a $50 order (before shipping and taxes) using the Host Code BET3BVQX, I'll send you four cards and instructions by mail as a thank you.  If your order is over $200, please do not use the Hostess Code as you'll qualify for Stampin' Rewards, but I'll still send you the 4 free cards!

Wood Words

Tuesday, 5 February 2019

Today I'm featuring the Wood Words stamp set.  It's fun to go back to a stamp set that you haven't used in awhile and combine it with a new product from the latest catalogue.  For this card I added in the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper with the light wood tone.

Isn't this clean and simple!

Instructions

  1. Score Mossy Meadow card stock (4 1/4" x 11") in half to make card base.
  2. Stamp a piece of Floral Romance Designer Series Paper (4" x 5 1/4") using the flowers from Wood Words - stamp twice to cover from one side to the other.  It won't matter if the stamps overlap a bit as it will be covered
  3. Stamp the rooster image on a scrap piece of the same Designer Series Paper in Mossy Meadow.  Punch out with 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
  4. Punch out circle from Mossy Meadow card stock scrap using 1 3/4" Circle Punch
  5. Adhere the two circle pieces together using Snail
  6. Wrap line thread around the fat part of your hand about 3 times and pinch in the middle.  Adhere to the card over the flowers using Snail.
  7. Adhere rooster image circles on top using Dimensional
  8. Stamp sentiment on bottom of card using Mossy Meadow ink.
  9. Adhere to card base.
  10. Stamp rooster and flowers on inside of card and on envelope.

Never send a naked envelope!
