Happy Valentine's Day!

Friday, 14 February 2014

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.  My husband and I don't really go all out for Valentine's Day and this year is no exception - we're going out to dinner tonight at friends, but no plans for a romantic dinner for the two of us.  Have to work on that for next year :)

I did however buy him a little chocolate treat - I saw this as I came through Denver Airport on a recent trip and I know he loves chocolate.  The holder is made with the new Scalloped Top Punch from Stampin' Up!.  I love this punch.  I'll share a card I made using this punch to create the enclosure in my next post. Thanks to my friend Ginny Duncan who inspired this creation.

Here's the chocolate holder.  I'm also in love with the new washi tape in the Occasions Catalogue - Happy Watercolor!

I've shared the card I made on a previous blog, but here it is again.

I hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Mixed Media - I'm loving it!

Saturday, 1 February 2014

I've just finished the sample for my upcoming Mixed Media Class on February 22nd.  I just love this technique.  I get to be "artistic" not just creative - well, I think I am being artistic.  It's so much fun to keep applying layers and see what it turns out like.  The secret is to not give up!  It never looks very good until you get all of the layers applied!

Are you interested in learning more?  I have one space left on Feb 22nd.  I am holding a second class on March 1st from 1-4pm.  You can email me to reserve for either of these dates.

Want to see what you'll be working on?  For this sample I used the Petite Petals Punch from the Occasions Catalogue and the Designer Series Paper called Sweet Sorbet - one of the free products you can choose if you purchase $60 from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue or the Annual Catalogue.

Happy creating!

It's the most wonderful time of the year...Sale-a-Bration

Wednesday, 29 January 2014

Sale-a-Bration has started - it's the time of the year that you can earn FREE products from Stampin' Up!.  For every $60 you spend, you can choose a free product from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.
In addition, if you host a party with your friends with over $400 in sales, you can earn $40 more of free product of your choice.
If you haven't received your Sale-a-Bration brochure yet, check it out here or email me and I'll send you one.

A couple of samples made from Sale-a-Bration products to tempt you!
This card was made by my friend Diane Evans - she's used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper and Accessories Kit and the Decorative Dots Embossing folder as well as some new product from the Occasions Catalogue - Scalloped Tag Punch.  I love how she made a pocket for the tag.
My friend Alison Solven also used the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper and the Decorative Dots Embossing folder for this card.  She also used the Blessed Easter stamp from the Occasions Catalogue (Alison carefully cut the sentiment off the card so that she can use it for lots of occasions!)
Check out Sale-a-Bration today!  So many ways to earn free product, so little time!

Share Saturday - Part 2 - Everything that Glitters IS gold

Saturday, 18 January 2014

There seems to be a bit of a trend here - posting on Saturdays.  I'm not sure this will be a continuing trend - I definitely would like to post more often.

The Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue has lots of gold products and I love all of them.  As I've mentioned in past blogs, I participate in a monthly swap with other demonstrators in Canada.  This is my swap card for January.  It seemed like a perfect time for a Valentine's Card.  Lots of gold embossing powder used in the making of this card!

This card uses the following items from the SU! Occasions Catalogue:
It also uses 2 products from the upcoming Sale-a-Bration brochure - Banner Blast Stampset and Banner Punch.

The other stampset on this card is Gorgeous Grunge and Teeny Tiny Wishes.

If you haven't received a copy of the Occasions Catalogue or the Sale-a-Bration brochure, email me.

Happy stamping!

Share Saturday!

Saturday, 11 January 2014

I always find it difficult to come up with sympathy cards and am always sad when I need to make one.  Today I needed to make a sympathy card for a dear friend.  I decided to CASE (mean "copy and share everything") a card designed by my friend Farah Byrnes - Farah is known for loving black and white with a pop of red and in this case she used Basic Grey and Cherry Cobbler and White. She used the Love and Sympathy Stampset (Item 122797) from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.
Here's my CASE of Farah's card - I used the Simply Sketched stampset (a hostess set in the Annual Catalogue - Item 129672) and added a thin border of Cherry Cobbler.

Remember the new Occasions Catalogue is available - check it out on line or email me to get your copy now.
