I decided to dig into the Annual Catalogue for this instalment of "Can You CASE (Copy and Share Everything) Friday". Today I'm featuring the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. Did you know that this stamp set has been part of the Stamp' Up! line since the beginning? I really love the set but often forget about it with all of the new stamps that come out.

Here's the card I CASE'd.

This card uses a technique where you stamp on an ink pad with an acrylic block in two colours and then spritz the block with some water. Then you stamp on your paper. It creates a beautiful background for your stamped image.

Here's the card I made.

I stamped in Early Espresso for the tree instead of Soft Suede as in the catalogue, but I still love the look of this card and I especially love how quick and easy it was to make. You could add more embellishments if you wanted to or maybe emboss the card base, but I was looking for a quick and easy card and this meets that criteria for sure.

Have you ever had a stampset that you thought you would use and then didn't? I've definitely had a few, but from the Occasions Catalogue, that was Waterfront. I love everything I see made with the set, but I hadn't pulled it out and played. Until last night, that is!

Wow, this set is amazing and so easy to create beautiful cards and projects. Today I want to share with you two cards that I made that are the same except on one I stamped on Whisper White Cardstock and on the other I stamped on wet Watercolour paper.

First the card made by stamping the images on Whisper White. I love how crisp, clean and peaceful this card is.

For the second card, I stamped on wet watercolour paper and then spritzed some more on the images once stamped. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment. I love this technique because you never really know what the final image will look like and it really has an artistic feel to it.

I'm a day late in posting my "can you CASE it Friday" instalment. I've just returned from a business trip. I've been playing with he Blooming Basket bundle from the new Sale-a-Bration brochure. I love this set especially the basket weave embossing folder.

I used the Stampin' Blends to colour the basket and the fussy cut the basket out. It makes me feel like spring!

I've been playing with the Brusho Crystal Colors and I have to say that these are my favourite new products in the Occasions Catalogue. Every time I make a project with them I learn more about them and the results are always so much fun. One of the big things that I've learned is that you have to be patient! The way the project looks changes as the colours dry and you have to be patient had let it dry - don't keep adding colour and water.

Here's a card I made using the Brilliant Blue and Yellow crystals.

Here's the steps I followed:

On Watercolor paper, stamp the large flower from the Beautiful Day Stampset using VersaMark ink. I used a piece of watercolour paper that was 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and then heat to set.
Sprinkle a small amount of blue crystals on the bottom left flower. Spray with water in a spritzer bottle.
Move the colour around inside the image to fill the image using an Aqua Painter
For the top two flowers, sprinkle a small amount of yellow crystals and spray with water in a spritzer bottle.
Move the colour around inside the image to fill the image using an Aqua Painter. Make sure you've cleaned the Aqua Painter between colouring the blue flower and the yellow flowers.
Pick up a small amount of blue colour and a bit of yellow colour from the flowers and colour in the leaves.
Spread some colour around outside of the flowers - you can pick up some colour from the flowers and dilute with water.
Let dry completely
Cut out the "Amazing" using Night of Navy yardstick
Cut out "YOU" using Daffodil Delight
Trim the dry watercolour paper to 3 3/4" x 5"
Cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock 4 1/4" x 11". Score at 5 1/2" and fold to make card base.
Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight yardstick 4" x 5 1/4". Adhere to card base.
Adhere watercolour paper to card base using Fast Fuse (it sticks best)
Adhere the "Amazing" piece to the card front using a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere the "YOU" using Mini Dimensionals.

This is such a cute card and so easy to make.

Here's my version.

Product List

Instructions:

Card Base: 4 1/4" x 11" - scored and folded in half
Springtime Foils: 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" - adhere to the front of the card base
Wrap Silver Metallic Thread around your hand 5-6 times and then adhere to the card front using a small amount of Fast Fuse. (TIP: I usually pinch the thread in the middle and stick that bunch on the adhesive).
Adhere 2 of the long stems from the Touch of Nature Elements to the card front over the silver thread.
Stamp a banner in Pool Party.
Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy.
Cut out the banner using scissors.
Adhere to the card front on top of the stems.
Enjoy!
