Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Fun Fold Cards

Today I'm participating in the Stampin Dreams Blog Hop.  The theme is "Fancy Folds".  Lately I've been addicted to Fancy Fold cards!  I'm always looking for new ones to try!  I learned this one on a recent Demonstrator Event on Vancouver Island where I live - thanks Laura Buechler!  It's an easy pop up card that will wow whoever receives it in the mail!

For my card today, I used the Sweet As A Peach Product Collection.  It is so pretty and the peach looks so realistic when stamped!  What do you think?

Instructions

  1. Cut Calypso Coral cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and fold in half to form card base.
  2. Cut Basic White cardstock  3 3/4" x 5"
  3. Cut Designer Series Paper 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" and adhere to the Basic White piece using Stampin' Seal.
  4. Cut 6" piece of ribbon and adhere about 1 1/2" from bottom using Stampin' Seal.
  5. Adhere to the card base using Stampin' Seal.
  6. Cut out smallest tag from Basic White cardstock using Tailored Tag Dies
  7. Stamp sentiment using Calypso Coral ink on tag
  8. Cut 3" of ribbon and tie through tag
  9. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
  10. Stamp peach using Pale Papaya ink on Basic White cardstock.  Sponge in a few places with Calypso Coral.  Cut out with die.
  11. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals
  12. Stamp leaf using Old Olive ink and cut out using die.
  13. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
  14. Adhere to card base using Dimensionals.
  15. Cut out Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to the inside of the card using Stampin' Seal.
  16. Cut Calypso Coral cardstock 5" x 5" and score in half.  Turn 90 degrees and score in half again.  Now score from 1 point to the other.
  17. Fold on each of the score lines and use Bone Folder to burnish
  18. Fold forward the points with the scorelines.  You will end up with a 2 1/2" square when it is folded (check out my Youtube Video to see how this is folded)
  19. Adhere to the inside of the card base - apply adhesive on the back of the 2 1/2" square and place up against the fold line of the card base with the point towards the bottom.
  20. Add adhesive to the top of the 2 1/2" square and fold the front of the card down to adhere the pieces.  When you open the card, the square will now pop open.
  21. Cut 2 pieces of DSP 2 1/4" x 2 1/4". Cut both in half from one point to another.  These pieces adhere to the left and right squares in the pop up - 1 piece above the score and the other piece below the score.
  22. Cut out 2 pieces of Basic White cardstock 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"
  23. Stamp sentiment on one piece using Calypso Coral ink.  Remember that this piece will be adhered as a diamond when you are stamping (see picture below).  Adhere to the bottom square.
  24. Stamp flowers using Calypso Coral ink and leaves using Old Olive ink

Isn't this a Wow!!!

So realistic - I stamped in Pale Papaya and then sponged on some Calypso Coral in a few spots before stamping

Check out my Youtube Video for tips and tricks to make a popup card. My video shows how to make the same card featuring the Pansy Patch Bundle, but the overall technique is the same. Maybe you just have to make both of them! Don't forget to subscribe to my Stamping with Melva YouTube Channel!
