Technique Tuesday - Masking Techniques

I'm excited to be participating in the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.  Today we're sharing cards featuring Masking Techniques.  I created this card as part of a card swap I participate in.  Masking is a quick and easy way to add detail to your card.

I've used the Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set for this card.  I love how it turned out - so pretty with Crumb Cake and Merry Merlot.  What do you think?


Instructions

  1. Cut Crumb Cake card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".  Fold on score line to form card base.
  2. Cut Merry Merlot card stock 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card base.
  3. Cut Very Vanilla card stock 3 3/4" x 5"
  4. Adhere a large Post it Note to the Very Vanilla card stock about 1/2" from left edge.
  5. Adhere a second Post It note to the Very Vanilla card stock 1 1/4" away from the other one.  You can use the Grid Lines on your Grid Paper to help line the Post It Notes up.
  6. Use your Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink to apply ink between the Post It Notes.
  7. Once you have the colour you want, remove the Post It Notes.
  8. Stamp image using Merry Merlot ink in the blended area
  9. Stamp sentiment in bottom right corner using Merry Merlot ink
  10. Cut 2 pieces of Linen Thread about 8" long and tie a bow
  11. Adhere to the image using a Glue Dot.
  12. Adhere Gilded Gems
