Fun/Fancy Folds Blog Hop - August 2025

Time for another Fun Folds Blog Hop. We are a group of Demonstrators from around the world that love to share what they love. I hope you enjoy and are inspired by the talents of the Demonstrators who participate!

I created this fun Pinwheel card using the Perfectly Pears Suite from Stampin' Up!®. This is one of my favourite suites - check out those gorgeous colours in the Designer Series Paper.

I had never made one of these cards so I had to get my brain around it. The easiest way to think about it is to fold it how you would close a cardboard box with one corner tucked under.

There is a surprise when you open it up!

I've included the instructions but the video will also help you with tips and tricks including me trying to figure out how to put it together!

Instructions

Cut Secret Sea cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2". Fold and burnish on scoreline using Bone Folder to form card base.
Cut Petal Pink cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Stamp splatter around edge of Petal Pink cardstock using Petal Pink ink.
Wrap ribbon about 1" from bottom and adhere to the back
Adhere to the card base
Cut Designer Series Paper 6" x 6" and score at 1 1/2" from each side.
Starting in top right corner, fold the corner back so the top is aligned with the scored edge.
Turn the Designer Series Paper 90 degrees and repeat.
Repeat until all 4 corners are folded back.
Cut Basic White cardstock 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Stamp pear on the Basic White cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink
Stamp the inside of the pear using Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral added around bottom edge using Sponge Dauber.
Stamp leaves at top of pear using Granny Apple Green ink
Stamp sentiment using Calypso Coral ink
Adhere to the inside of the card.
Cut Secret Sea cardstock 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Adhere pinwheel to the Secret Sea cardstock
Adhere to the card base about 1/2" from top of card
Cut Basic White cardstock 1/2" x 2"
Stamp sentiment using Calypso Coral ink
Cut banner end in left end
Adhere to the card base over ribbon using Dimensionals.
Cut 4" of ribbon and tuck under ribbon on card. Tie a single knot.
Adhere embellishments
Cut Basic White cardstock 4" x 5 1/4"
Cut Designer Series Paper 3/4" x 4"
Adhere to the bottom of the Basic White cardstock
Adhere to the inside of the card.
