  • National Day of Encouragement - Festive Friday Challenge

    Friday, 21 August 2020

It's time for another Festive Friday Challenge!  Every second Friday we post a challenge for you with a specific theme and a Inspo List of 10 items to choose from to create your project.  We encourage you to create a project based on the theme and Inspo List and then post it using at least 3 items from the inspiration list.

This week’s challenge #FF0066 is National Day of Encouragement on September 12th. Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion. I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item and join us. You don’t need a blog to enter Festive Friday. Check out this link on how you can play along with this challenge. If you want help entering, please email me at stampinwithmelva@gmail.com and I’d be happy to help you!

For today's challenge, I selected bright colours, ribbon, an uplifting sentiment, and pretty paper from this week’s Inspo List.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create.

Here's my card featuring the Whale Done Product Suite from the Annual Catalogue.  This suite is so much fun!  I cased this amazing fancy fold technique from Diane Evans!

Isn't this card adorable!  The whale and his spout, plants and fish are "floating" in on the card attached to a piece of Window Sheet.

You can check out the instructions and supply list for this card below.

  • In The Pines

    Sunday, 16 August 2020

Today I'm sharing another card I made featuring the In The Pines Bundle.  I love this bundle!  You can use it to make beautiful Christmas cards but I used it for a Thinking of You card today.  I paired it with the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper and some Brushed Metallic Cardstock to create this beautiful card.

    This is my favourite die!

    Instructions

    1. Cut Shaded Spruce cardstock 4 1/4" x 11".  Score at 5 1/2" and fold in half to form card base.
    2. Cut Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper 4" x 5 1/4"
    3. Cut Brushed Metallic Foil 1" x 4" and adhere to the Plush Poinsettia paper about 2 1/2" from the bottom.
    4. Adhere to the card base by applying Stampin' Seal on the back only where the foil strip is.  This will prevent seeing the adhesive on the front of the card.
    5. Cut out tree using die from Shaded Spruce cardstock.
    6. Adhere to the card base using Glue Dots
    7. Stamp sentiment on a 1/2" x 2 1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock
    8. Cut ends using Banner Pick a Punch.
    9. Adhere to card base using Mini Dimensionals.
