Festive Corners - Just in time for Halloween

Today I'm sharing a card I made using the Festive Corners stampset for Halloween.  I paired it with some beautiful Designer Series Paper from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It's definitely feeling like fall here and Halloween is only a week away.

Isn't this pretty!  I love the sentiments going around the corner and the splash of the foil paper.

Did you notice the ribbon?  This Black Organdy ribbon has silver sparkle in it, but I used my Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend to colour it and presto, the sparkle now coordinates perfectly with the card! I love that you can colour ribbon with the Stampin' Blends!  Have you tried that technique yet?

Instructions

  1. Cut Basic Black cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score in half to form card base.
  2. Cut Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4"
  3. Cut 12" of ribbon and colour with Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend
  4. Cut 6" of the coloured ribbon and adhere to Designer Series Paper using Stampin' Seal.
  5. Adhere Designer Series Paper to the card base using Stampin' Seal
  6. Cut Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock 3" x 3"
  7. Cut Very Vanilla cardstock 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  8. Stamp sentiment in the top right and bottom left corners using Cajun Craze ink.
  9. Stamp pumpkin image using Cajun Craze ink (stamped off).
  10. Adhere to the Brushed Metallic cardstock using Stampin' Seal.
  11. Adhere to the card base using Dimensionals.
  12. Tie the remainder of the coloured ribbon onto ribbon on cardbase.  Trim to size.

National Cappuccino Day - Festive Friday Challenge

It's time for another Festive Friday Challenge!  Every second Friday we post a challenge for you with a specific theme and a Inspo List of 10 items to choose from to create your project.  We encourage you to create a project based on the theme and Inspo List and then post it using at least 3 items from the inspiration list.

This week’s challenge #FF0070 is National Cappuccino Day on November 8th. Your goal is to simply use three or more items from the inspiration list on your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge  At Festive Friday, you do not need to actually celebrate the occasion. I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D project and join us. You don’t need a blog to enter Festive Friday. Check out this link on how you can play along with this challenge. If you want help entering, please email me at stampinwithmelva@gmail.com and I’d be happy to help you!

For today's challenge, I selected hot drink theme, brown, gold, ribbon or twine, die cut and cream/ivory from this week’s Inspo List.  I hope you will join us in our challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what YOU create.

My card uses the Nothing's Better Than from the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue.  I love how this card turned out - I think the combination of Balmy Blue and Early Espresso is really pretty.  The popped up "Coffee" adds just the perfect amount of detail.
